Traceroute
Traceroute shows which routers data passes through from our server to the target and how long each step takes. It helps find where the connection slows down or stops.
How to read the result
- Node
- A router on the path to the target. Each row is one hop and the numbers are measurements of its latency.
- Asterisks * * *
- The hop did not respond. If later hops continue, it is not an error – the router just ignores these messages.
- Sharp increase in latency
- If the time jumps and stays high all the way to the target, the connection slows down at the hop where the jump started.
